Learning to serve one another is not something that comes naturally anymore. It is something that must be learned, either from parents, or by faithful practice on your own. True service will meet a need of someone else, without harming them. It will meet needs that are spoken, and unspoken. It springs from caring, not from pity, and builds friendships, not duties. It is given with no thought of the cost to the giver. And it makes the world we live in immeasurably better.
