Homeschool

Homeschooling is a choice that is rarely taken lightly. When someone makes that choice, it is usually for very compelling reasons. It is a lot of work, and no one would choose this difficult path unless they felt it was necessary and unquestionably in the best interest of the children in question. Such a choice is deserving of respect, because no one other than the parents are in any way qualified to perceive such a need, let alone determine whether the choice is a good one or not.

Homeschool parents are, almost always, parents who have chosen to commit to their children's upbringing to a degree that other parents do not. They not only are willing to accept responsibility for insuring that their children get a quality education, they are willing to take the entire burden upon themselves if the situation calls for it. I know countless parents who thought that homeschooling was a good idea until they discovered how much effort it really was, and that in order to do it, they would have to learn how to teach their child. That means that the parent has to be willing to change also, and not just to demand change from the child. No parent can succeed at homeschooling without humility, confidence, dedication, and intelligence.
