To many people, revenge becomes a way of life. To others, it is a perfectly allowable and justifiable behavior. Holding a grudge is considered reasonable. But the fact is, when you harbor ill feelings, it hurts you worse than anyone else. It holds you back from joy, and self-esteem. It can be very hard knowing how to forgive without enabling someone else to continue to take advantage of you, but there is a balance that can be achieved. And you can choose your behavior based on who you are, not based on what someone else did to you. Forgiving is an admirable quality, and one that our world needs in abundance. We salute those who give us an example of how to be more than we are.
